Biography:

Dr. Surjit Singh has completed Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (Institution of National Importance), Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. He holds M.Tech. degree in CSE with Distinction from Jamia Hamdard (Institute of Eminence), New Delhi, and B.Tech. degree in Computer Engineering with Honors from Kurukshetra University. He was the State Board Topper during his diploma course.

He is currently working as an Assistant Professor and M.E. Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala in Punjab (INDIA). Before joining TIET, he has worked as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra. He has more than 11 years of experience in teaching and research with different institutions, including UPTU Engineering Colleges and GLA University.

He is serving as Guest Editor/Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics and different journals of high repute. He is also serving as a reviewer and International Advisory Board of several journals & International Conferences including IEEE Transactions, IEEE Access, FGCS Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Inderscience, and IGI Global. He has authored/co-authored more than 30 research publications with reputed publishers including IEEE Transactions, ACM, IET, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, Pearson, and IGI Global USA. He has Three Books to his credit “Handbook of Research on the IoT, Cloud Computing and Wireless Network Optimization” and “Handbook of Research on Power and Energy System Optimization”, with publisher IGI Global USA; and “Computer Systems and Programming in C” with publisher Pearson Education.

His areas of current interests are Next-Generation/Advanced Computer Networks, Internet of Things, Cryptography & Information Security, Cloud-IoT collaborations, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Soft Computing.
