ARO

    The Alumni Association office came into being in 1996 and since then has been actively involved in the various activities related to the Alumni of the University. The General activities of the T U Alumni Association include the following:

  • Assisting the Institute for realising various University Projects, like Alumni House
  • Creation, updation and maintenance of T U Alumni Database
  • Uploading T U alumni database, newsletter and alumni news on Alumni website
  • Bringing out quarterly Newsletter - Alumni Update with additions of activities of the alma mater
  • Sending birthday wishes to alumni (through post and also by e-mail everyday)
  • Assisting the Alumni for the formation of local chapters with proper guidelines
  • Assisting of the local chapters in fulfilling their aims and objectives with regular contacts through reports received from them
  • Assist the TASC for arranging/financing various workshops on Entrepreneurship, Leadership, panel discussions
  • Promoting student, alumni and faculty interaction, through a team of students TASC

    ARO Activities 2006

      T U Alumni Association organized the following events/activities:

    • Alumni Meet (Reunion of Different Batches): The reunion of the Silver Jubilee batch “class of 1980” along with that of the Golden Jubilee entrants “1956” batch was organized on 4th November 2006. The occasion was marked by the presence of more than 90 alumni from silver jubilee batch and 20 from golden entrant batch
    • The Association has provided Washing machines to each boys Hostel (30 in number; 6 in each of 5 hostels) and every girls hostel (8 machines and 8 dryers), along with the stands.
    • The Association office published and provided Fresher’s Guide to first year entrants
    • The Alumni Relations Office and TU Alumni Association has been honouring distinguished alumni every year. Last year, the award went to Mr. M. S. Rana, BE-176/77 CE, who is Director Way and Works, Konkan Railways. He was presented the award at the T U convocation on 24th October, 2006. In 2007, this award was given to Air Vice Marshal Mr. S. K. Jindal BE-33/63 (EE) during the convocation on 15th October, 2007.
    • Provided scholarships to 3 alumnus wards amounting to Rs. 72,000/- per annum

      2. Mr.Akhil Singla BE – 1020805 (Mech) s/o Er. Rakesh Singla BE-35/73 EE and
      3. Mr. Ankit Goyal, 2nd year, BE Computers S/o Er. V. K. Goyal, BE- 57/78 (CE)
    • A Special prize of Rs. 25,000/- (in the form of NSC’s) was given to Mr. Udayan Khurana, the best all rounder of the Institute for the year 2005-06. In the year 2007, it was given to Mr. Sumit Rana during the convocation on 15th October, 2007.
    • An event to mark the passing out of students, titled “The Alumni In The Making” was held on 15th of May, 2007, wherein the graduates of 2007 were welcomed in the alumni fold.
    • Under the Alumni Lecture Series, a lecture by Dr. T. S. Sidhu, 1975-79 batch on “Graduate studies in Canada” was organized on 16th September, 2006
