Identity Proof During Examination

All the students of B.Tech (Distance Education) Programme who are scheduled to appear in the End Semester Examination in August, 2008 are advised to bring & keep their Identity Cards with them during examination. In case of non-issuance of Identity Cards, they can bring some other identity proof with them (i.e. Driving Licence / Voter Card / Pass Port / Income Tax Pan Card or I.Card issued by their employers).
Since the candidates will have to prove their identity during the examination, strict compliance to these instructions is essential.

Accommodation During End Semester Examination

All the students of B.Tech (Distance Education) Programme who are desirous of getting accommodation during End Semester Examination (August 2008) in Thapar University Campus are advised to contact Mess Manager / Care Taker of the concerned hostel directly on all working days between 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM:

Limited accommodation will be available in the above said hostels on first come first serve basis and also on twin share basis. All the students are advised to:

bring their own bedding otherwise they will have to arrange the same thro some vender at their own.
deposit necessary room rent and all other charges directly to the Mess Manager / Care taker and obtain necessary cash receipt.
directly contact the Mess Manager / Care Taker of Hostel concerned for any queries related to booking of accommodation / payment of room rent and other charges etc.

REQUEST FOR DELHI CENTER

The students of B. Tech (Distance Education) Programme interested in appearing for their End Semester examination at Delhi Centre are required to send their request(by email or post) before 5th August 2008. After that no request will be entertained by the department.

NEWS LETTER

The Department of Distance Education is going to start the publication of ‘DDE NEWSLETTER’ bio-annually covering the following activities of the Department/University:-

1.	Important activities / news of the University.
2.	All activities of the Department of Distance Education (i.e. New Admission / Entrance Test / Registration / PCP / Assignment Schedule / End Semester Examinations / Declaration of Results etc	To be contributed by the students of DDE / faculty / staff
3.	Technical articles
4.	Literary articles
5.	General articles
6.	Students views about Distance Learning etc
7.	Miscellaneous

All the DDE students are requested to send their articles on the above said activities to the Coordinator, Department of Distance Education so that first issue of the newsletter could be brought.

STAY ARRANGEMENTS DURING PCP

Stay arrangements (on sharing basis) of students who are coming from distance places (outside Patiala) have been made in the Hostels of the University during the period of their PCP.
They will also be provided mess facility.
Students are advised to bring their bedding & all day-today use items and report to the following:-
