Biography:

Dr. Prabhat Jaiswal is an Assistant Professor at School of Physics and Materials Science, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He finished his Ph.D. in 2010 from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He worked at (a) Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany from 2011-2012; (b) Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel from 2013-2016;  and (c) Max-Planck Institute of Intelligent Systems, Stuttgart, Germany from 2017-2018 during his postdoctoral fellowship tenure. Dr. Jaiswal’s research interest includes:

a) Phase-Separation Kinetics
b) Wetting at Surfaces
c) Patterns and Instabilities in Thin Films
d) Effect of Disorder in Unstable Systems
e) Confined Systems in the presence of Gradients
f) Mechanical Properties of Glasses and Granular Media

Description of Research Interests:

My broad research interest is in the field of Non-equilibrium Statistical Physics and Computational Physics of soft materials. In particular, special focus has been on the study of phase-separation kinetics of mixtures, wetting phenomena, dewetting of thin films, mechanical properties of amorphous solids and granular media, and self assembly of patchy particles.
