Biography

Dr. Seema Bawa, Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at TIET Patiala since 2005.

She holds

M.Tech (Computer Science and Data Processing) degree from IIT Khargpur in 1991,

M.Sc. (Statistics) from I.I.T. Kanpur (1989) and

Ph.D. from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala.

Before joining Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala in May 1999, she worked in software industry as Project Manager, Project Leader and Sr. Software Engineer for about seven years. Former Dean (Student Affairs), Former-Head of Computer Sc. & Engg. Department, currently she is Professor InCharge Nava Nalanda Central Library since 2015. She has also been managing the entire network of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Campus since 1999 upto 2010 as Network Manager and Head CISH.

Her areas of research interests include Blockchain technology, Data Science, Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning. She has supervised 23 Ph.D. s, six are in progress. She has completed five national level sponsored projects and published 184 research papers in international journals/ conferences of repute (as on Jan 15 2023).
