Business Incubation

Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India and Thapar University have jointly established Science and Technology Entrepreneur's Park (STEP) at the University Campus essentially to nurture innovations to commercial ventures and create more career opportunities for the graduating S&T persons by providing initial support for business incubation and development. STEP creates the necessary climate for innovation, information exchange and offers a platform to individuals with semi-developed novel idea into proof of concept from bench scale to pilot plant by providing infrastructure support and forging link with relevant organizations and industries. Business oriented research proposals are given support in the form of student business incubation and virtual business incubation at STEP. Graduating students can look for entrepreneurial opportunities at some stage of their career so that they become job providers rather than job seekers.
