The institute has several playgrounds and well-maintained athletic track to encourage the students to take part in different games such as Cricket, Hockey, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis and Badminton. SPIC MACAY is a non-political nationwide voluntary movement that organises programmes of classical music and dance, folk arts, crafts, yog, classic cinema screenings, heritage walks, etc. inside school and college campuses throughout the world to make students more aware about Indian and world heritage. Pratigya Society

PRATIGYA, a society, or you may call it a NGO is actually a team hand in hand which is working, consistently for social welfare. To describe PRATIGYA from its root, it is a team which basically teaches the unprivileged kids from classes I to XII. These kids include those of the children of fourth class employees of Thapar Institute as well as their friends residing outside Thapar. The volunteers are the students of Thapar Institute from B.E. all years as well as MSc, M.Tech,PhD and MBA.

The objective of Youth United is to encourage development of society as a whole through its activities like publishing periodicals on social issues, organize community service events & visits. Adventure Club @ Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is the forum for adventure enthusiasts, trekkers, climbers and armchair mountaineers in the student community. It works to develop the spirit of adventure in Thaparians. The aim is to make the best of the absolutely beautiful terrain around Himachal region and beyond, in the short vacations one gets in an year, while having the greatest fun possible. While the stock activities are trekking ,rock climbing and mountain cycling, adventure club has also organized skiing and river rafting sporadically.

children, who are living in slums or roads and are begging on the streets. Kalam aims to generate

Rotaract club's motto is "Remodeling a better tomorrow" through which passionate people come together to exchange ideas to tackle communities' most persistent problems, provide aid to people in need, spread prosperity and invest in the next generation for tomorrow by organising fun activities like Health check-up camps, distributing sanitary napkins in slums, spreading cancer awareness amongst many.
