SLIET-MIT (USA) SETU (Energy Group) :
Faculty advisor of energy projects for the villages in Punjab of a combined group of students comprising SLIET Longowal and MIT (USA) in July 2004 at SLIET Longowal. A team of twenty four students from MIT (USA) visited SLIET Longowal for one month to carry out several rural development projects in Punjab.
Participation in International Event (U.K.):
Led a group of Mechanical Engineering students as faculty advisor (Team Fateh) who designed and fabricated a car under Formula One category as per specification of Institution of Mechanical Engineering at Silverstone (U.K.) during 10th-13th July, 2008 and bagged the “Best Endeavor Award” sponsored by Toyota. The car was subjected to scrutinizing, tilt test, brake test, noise test, sprint and endurance test. Apart from these tests, there is a presentation for design and cost of the car. This is for the first time an Indian team won an award in Formula One category organized by IMECHE. 72 cars from 55 countries participated in this event.
Participation in International Event (Italy):
Led ‘Team Hybrid’ of Thapar University as faculty advisor in ‘Formula Electric and Hybrid, Italy’ during 7th-9th October, 2009. Formula Electric and Hybrid Italy is an international competition that challenges teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with small ecological vehicles. The team stood third in the design competition.
Extra Curricular Activities:
Chairman Faculty Club (SLIET Longowal) for three years: Construction of lawn tennis court, badminton court, organization of many sports events for faculty of SLIET Longowal.
