Workshop
on 5G

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala, organised a one-day workshop on "5G and Beyond Communication Systems: The Future of ISAC - From Classical to Quantum Wireless Communications" on July 16 2026.

The workshop brought together faculty members, research scholars, Ph.D. scholars, and students to explore the latest developments in Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), emerging 6G technologies, and quantum-enabled wireless communication systems. The objective was to provide participants with insights into next-generation communication technologies and their potential applications.

The morning technical session featured Dr. Atul Kumar from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIT (BHU), who delivered an expert talk on advancements in 5G and Beyond-5G/6G communication systems, ISAC, and the evolution towards quantum wireless communications.

The afternoon session offered hands-on training on Quantum ISAC and Quantum Sensing, enabling participants to gain practical exposure to emerging technologies and their applications in future wireless communication systems.

Coordinated by Dr. Hem Dutt Joshi, Dr. Surbhi Sharma, and the 5G Use Case Lab Team, the workshop served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and discussions on the future of wireless communication.
