Central Workshop is one of the centers of the institute which impart conceptual knowledge and hands-on-experience of the different manufacturing techniques to the undergraduate and diploma students of the institute. This centre trains more than 2500 students in a year. The prime motive of the central workshop is to bring the confidence and hence, to inculcate ideas for product design and their manufacturing activities in near future of their career. This centre also provides product manufacturing support to the entire institute for their academics and research purpose in general and undergraduate students in particular.
The Central Workshop also transferring the knowledge and skills to undergraduate students of Mechanical Engineering. These students are acquiring training and knowledge in specialized areas of manufacturing like Metal Casting, Machining, Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Welding & Joining and Additive manufacturing (3D printing).
